Join Life in Mind at Lived Experience Summit

Posted 20th August 2018

The team behind Life in Mind, a digital gateway that connects organisations and communities with access to suicide prevention programs, services, resources and research, will be on hand throughout the inaugural 2018 Lived Experience Summit in Brisbane this week.

Hosted by Roses in the Ocean, the summit is expected to attract more than 150 attendees bringing with them a diversity of insight, experience and knowledge of suicide and mental illness.

Throughout this event the Life in Mind team will work closely with Roses in The Ocean to film and capture the many voices of lived experience.

These vignettes will be amplified via the Life in Mind digital gateway.

Life in Mind Project Lead Amanda McAtamney said the summit is the ideal opportunity for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

“This inaugural summit is providing an amazing opportunity to collaborate, work with and encourage the diversity of lived experience voices to be heard in one central forum and to provide a platform for sharing insights on projects and initiatives,” Ms McAtamney said.

“It is important that lived experience representatives are included in all stages of the development of policy, programs and other initiatives to ensure their valuable knowledge is shared.”

“The event also represents an ideal opportunity for those within the suicide prevention sector and lived experience networks to have #YouCanTalk conversations amongst peers and colleagues.”

Visit the Life in Mind team at the Everymind booth throughout the Summit, where information on expressing interest for filming, and filming times will be available.
