The Life in Mind team often travel across the country to meet, speak and present to various stakeholders and audiences in order to build and maintain collaborative relationships

The team have a busy month ahead and will be attending a range of upcoming conferences and events where they will be presenting and participating in suicide prevention discussions.

Event: 19th International Mental Health Conference
Date: Wednesday August 8 – Friday August 10, 2018
Location: Gold Coast, Queensland
Who: Project Lead, Amanda McAtamney, Suicide Prevention, Everymind
Topic: The presentation will include an interactive tour through the Life in Mind online portal, as an example of e-mental health promotion. It will highlight the value of e-mental health in providing a link for research, government and service providers to each other and the community. In a separate presentation Amanda will also be conducting a presentation on the Mindframe approach, discussing responsible coverage of suicide, mental illness and lived experience in news media.

Event/Activity: Life in Mind Exhibition Booth
Who: Senior Project Officer, Elizabeth Paton, Suicide Prevention, Everymind
Topic: Life in Mind and Roses in the Ocean will be collaborating together at the event to film lived experience vignettes on a wide range of topics throughout the summit.

Event: The Mental Health Services Conference 2018
Date: Tuesday 28 August -31 August
Location: Adelaide, South Australia

Topic: This presentation aims to raise awareness of the National Communications Charter, outlining its key components and updated structure, principles and key messages and the establishment of new support and dissemination strategies, such as a Champions Group and training resources.
Topic: The presentation will include an interactive tour through the Life in Mind online portal, as an example of e-mental health promotion, providing a link for research, government and service providers to each other and the community.

Event: Care For Life Suicide Prevention Network - World Suicide Prevention Day event
Date: Tuesday 11 September, 2018

Topic: This presentation will focus on the importance of communities having safe, supportive and engaging conversations about suicide and suicide prevention.

Event: RUOK Day – Conversation Convoy
Date: Friday 7 September, 2018
Location: Newcastle, Civic Park, New South Wales
Who: Life in Mind team
Topic: Life in Mind team will have an interactive stall & information booth at the Newcastle event, providing resources, insights and information on how to be involved and learn about suicide prevention.
