The national charity, established in 1963, receives more than a million requests each year to its 24/7 crisis line 13 11 14 and nightly online Crisis Support Chat service.
In being there for everyday Australians 'when life happens', Lifeline offers 1) someone to talk to at any time of the day – someone who will listen, 2) a chance to talk the feelings out – and feel some relief in doing so, and c) a confidential and accessible source of support.
The national charity's vision is an Australia free of suicide.
