Dr Lennart Reifels is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Mental Health, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne who currently coordinates the National Leadership in Suicide Prevention Research project. His key research areas include: population mental health, mental health systems and service research, disaster risk reduction, and strategic climate change adaptation. His research program aims to tackle shared complex challenges with a view to advance mental healthcare access, coordination and outcomes for hard-to-reach and at-risk population groups, including those at risk of suicide and people affected by extreme climatic events and disasters, encompassing scholarly contributions in the fields of epidemiology, comparative policy and mental health services research. Dr Reifels has extensive research and work experience in academic and national mental health service settings in Australia and Germany, including research, direct service and national training management roles.
